PM CVs are the hardest to write because the output is always 'shipped a feature'. The trick is to name the metric that moved, activation, retention, revenue, NPS, and by how much. If you can't, you look replaceable.
Ownership, prioritisation, roadmap, stakeholder management
North star metrics, OKRs, leading / lagging indicators
A/B testing, experimentation, funnel analytics
User research, interviews, Jobs To Be Done (JTBD)
Jira, Linear, Notion, Figma, Amplitude, Mixpanel, Segment
SQL (even basic, being able to self-serve is a PM superpower)
Launch strategies, go-to-market, positioning
Only include skills you can defend in an interview. Inflated skill lists fail the first phone screen.
One metric moved per role, minimum. Ideally the north-star metric of that product area.
Evidence you shipped (not 'scoped', not 'defined')
Scale signal: MAU, ARR, users, markets, any context for the impact
Specific collaboration: 'Led 3-engineer pod + 1 designer for…'
Weak
Worked with engineering to ship new features for the onboarding flow.
Strong
Owned onboarding for Acme's B2B product; 6 shipped experiments lifted day-7 activation from 31% to 52% across 40k new signups/quarter.
Weak
Collaborated with cross-functional teams to launch a new product.
Strong
Led the launch of Acme's first payments product (0→1) with a 4-eng pod + 1 designer; hit $200k MRR in 90 days.
Weak
Defined the product roadmap.
Strong
Replaced a 6-month feature backlog with 3 quarterly bets grounded in customer interviews; shipped 2/3 on time, drove 25% retention lift.
A Substack / Medium post analysing a real product launch
A case study deck on a feature you shipped (screenshots, metrics, tradeoffs)
A no-code MVP (Webflow + Airtable + Stripe) with real users
A teardown of a well-known product you'd redesign
